The Twelve Days of Leeds

Little brother

On the first day of Leeds my brother gave to me

a cider in a pint glass.

On the second day of Leeds I got from my sis-in-law
some soda bread
and a cider in a pint glass.

On the third day of Leeds my brother gave to me

and some ciders in a pint glass.

On the fourth day of Leeds the others came to town
one second cousin
one witty husband
one tall German guy
and we had ciders in a pint glass.

On the fifth day of Leeds me and dearest sis-in-law
had a manicure

On the ninth day of Leeds it is falling all apart
one has to work

one is sick and sleeping
one is going shopping
is there someone missing
at afternoon tea
think of our oceans
save the Blue Planet
with classical music
and a cider in a pint glass.

On the tenth day of Leeds there are lots of things to do
enjoy summer weather
see Da Vinci drawings
go to the post office
buy books and some comics
withdraw more money
drink at Angel Inn
visit other pubs
eat some pies and peas
Pies & peas
try some Yorkshire beers
and a cider in a pint glass.

On the eleventh day of Leeds on last evening we shall have
local charcuterie
delicious duck a-livers
famous fish'n'chips
crispy pork a-belly
very big a-gnocchis
pink and orange wines
Fish'n'chips
lovely banoffee
cocktails in speakeasy
jazz a-music playing
afterwards a brew
or a cider in a pint glass.

On the twelfth day of Leeds here's the things you need to do
wake up pretty early
have some English breakfast
go take a shower
Goodbye
watch the morning news
drink a cup of coffee
then get finally dressed
pack the f*cking bags
say your goodbye
call the people carrier
hug the little brother
shed some tears and cry
in the cider in a pint glass.
